KIN-BREEDING: Gimmethegreenlight’s significant female line ancestors are Oriens (by Hyperion, and further back Part Worn, who has tight kin-links with Lalun & Dalmary, found in Fairy Bridge, dam of Sadler’s Wells) and closer up Victory Piper. The latter is kinbred 2x1 Red Briar x Sweet Victory, with Hyperion a significant line in both. Hyperion and Sadler’s Wells lead to Fort Wood, who is well represented in Gimmethegreenlight’s best runners.
Red Briar is from the Red Ray branch of the Black Ray female line. Also from this female line is Blushing Groom, who provides links to Gimmethegreenlight, notably through his son Jallad who carries a host of other elements also present in Red Briar and Victory Piper. Rainbow Quest is another Blushing Groom son who kin-links to Gimmethegreenlight’s bottom female line.

Got The Greenlight carries a host of kin-linked ancestors, any or all of whom could have influenced his racing ability.
The remote female line of his sire Gimmethegreenlight comes with kin-links to Hyperion, Lalun and Dalmary – who together fit in with Fort Wood. Gimmethegreenlight also comes with kin-links to ancestor Black Ray (through Red Ray).
Gimmethegreenlight’s sire More Than Ready is by Southern Halo out of Woodman’s Girl, the latter kinbred 2x2 to mares Playmate and Good Landing, who in turn are close kin to Spring Adieu (in Danehill). Southern Halo is close kin to Spring Adieu, as well as to Angel Fever, dam of Fusaichi Pegasus. Angel Fever in turn is close kin to Spring Adieu and to Danehill, both in the dam of Got The Greenlight. They represent Almahmoud’s influence (Halo, Cosmah, Natalma). That’s one angle.
Another angle comes from Got The Greenlight’s female line, the mare Giovana. She has doubles of Aureole and Sir Tristram. Aureole (by Hyperion out of a daughter of Feola) is sire of Authi and of Hermes, who are close kin. Authi’s dam Natushka is also close kin to Hermes. Feola could be a key component here. The double of Sir Ivor comes through Sir Tristram and Ivory Dawn, who are close kin. Sir Tristram’s dam is by Feola’s grandson Round Table, the third dam is sister to Hyperion.
Noted earlier were kin-linked Lalun and Dalmary, in the dam of Fort Wood’s sire Sadler’s Wells. This leads to Galileo, by Sadler’s Wells out of a Miswaki mare. Miswaki is close kin to Spring Adieu (from Danehill), which might explain the notable Galileo/Danehill-mare combo.
There will no doubt be other angles (for instance, More Than Ready and Fusaichi Pegasus are close kin to Elusive Quality), but the above looks a solid start.
