Gone West (in Jackson) is sire of Western Winter (in Futura). Badger’s Drift (in Futura) and Restructure (in Legislate) are both out of mares by Thatching who is full brother to Golden Thatch (in Futura). These full brothers are out of Abella, by Abernant - who is close kin to Drum Beat, and to the mare Mixed Marriage, third dam of Gone West. Another kin-link is to the mare Farthing Damages, who is doubled in the dam of Pole Position (in Ancestral Fore). This leads to kin-relatives Court Martial and Tudor Minstrel. Dynasty kin-links through his 3rd dam Lavenda Lady, by Abernant, and close kin to Drum Beat et al, including the mare Popcorn (in Irish Flame).

Pedigree
The female line of Act Of War traces to a full sister to stallion Portlaw, who can be found remotely in South African pedigrees, including Averof/Foveros and Ribocco (in Dynasty’s damsire). Closer up in his female line is Si Senorita’s ancestor l’Etoile (full sister to the grandam stallion Foreign Agent – a son of Mexico and sire of highclass sprinters). L’Etoile’s sire Faubourg is from the same female line as she is, making her kinbred to the dam of Portree and 3-part sister Needle Eye (from Faubourg).
Remotely, the female line is also the one of SA stallion Greatorex.
Act Of War’s grandam Vadostar is inbred to Turn To, through the latter’s sons Sir Gaylord and First Landing. Turn To is out of Source Sucree, who is a daughter of Lavendula. Act Of War and his two stakes winning siblings kin-link to this line.
Act Of War is by Dynasty, whose grandam Joy Petite carries a double: from her sire Joy and her 3rd dam Black Brook (half sister to Turn To). Dynasty’s sire Fort Wood has another line of Turn To, through Hail To Reason. Act Of War’s half brother Subastador is by Tara’s Halls, who is inbred to Turn To through Sir Gaylord and Hail to Reason. The same double appears in another half brother, Luna de Victoria, who is by Victory Moon – the latter’s sire Al Mufti has Hail to Reason and Sir Gaylord.
SUITABLE LINES for Act Of War could include
- Descendants of the Marchetta female line, notably through Sweet Lavender, Lavendula, Source Sucree, Perfume. This includes stallion Turn-To and his sons Sir Gaylord and Hail to Reason – as in mares with Al Mufti, or other Lassie Dear descendants. Multiples of this female line are widespread.
- Other Marchetta descendants include Aurora, the dam of Alycidon (widespread), Acropolis (in Horse Chestnut, Toreador – the latter’s grandam 3x2 Alycidon x Acropolis), Borealis (in Right Approach). There are other branches of the family to be found locally.
- Other options are mares with lines of Portlaw (notably Sing Sing, Averof, Foveros; also Travel North, by Northern Guest, the latter full brother to El Grand Senor in Si Senorita’s sire Cordoba), or the probably hard-to-find Foreign Agent.
- Of importance might be the remote lines of Greatorex, doubled in the female line ancestors of (among others) Jet Master and the Lily-family (which are found together in stallion Ravishing). Jet Master also carries four lines of Lavendula (doubles of Hail to Reason, and of Perfume).
